Lupa do Bem holds the first meeting of community leaders
The first Meeting of Community Leaders Networks took place in Rio de Janeiro and covered topics such as fundraising and the use of social networks
June 27th was a special and very important day for Lupa do Bem, from Sherlock Communications, as the 1st Meeting of Community Leaders Networks took place.
It was truly wonderful to hear the powerful speeches of the leaders present. During the meeting, several topics were discussed, all of interest to those involved with social initiatives.
It started with presentations and, soon after, a playful and emotional integration dynamic was carried out with the aim of showing that whatever we do, with the help of others, the solution comes. Then came the speeches, starting with:
- Fabiana Moreno Rosa, leader and co-founder of Lupa do Bem, who spoke about fundraising and its importance, as well as how to work on communication as an important way to obtain funding and gave tips on how to carry out this task;
- Afterwards, Luisa Calixto commented on recording activities for social proof, giving some examples;
- Ending with Izabella Soares, who explained the need to use social networks and the role of each one of them, giving tips on how to use them in the best way.
Exchange of experiences
Everyone’s participation in the first Meeting of Networks of Community Leaders was important, but a special thanks goes to Adriano, from Fórum Grita Baixada, and Dona Jurema, from JAMDS, for traveling so far to honor us with their smiling presence, to Vitor Del Rei, from Instituto Guetto, for his speech, to Andressa Santos, who was available to take the minutes, in addition to Manoella Aguiar and Ana Isabelly Barretos, from Água Camelo.
We appreciate the presence, exchange and interaction of each one during the meeting. Everyone performed powerfully, and the energy in the room was high.
The truth is that the time was little for so much exchange of knowledge and tips, stories and experiences to be told. It left me wanting to talk, listen and know more.
But don’t worry, another meeting will happen soon and it will definitely be better. After all, what makes us experts is repetition.
Testimonials from some participants of the first Meeting of Community Leaders Networks
“I am the creator of the Um Passo A Mais project, where we hold capoeira, jiu-jitsu, muay thai, crafts and literacy classes. I want to say that I am very happy with our meeting, a meeting of community leaders and NGOs. A meeting that opened my mind and, above all, it was great to meet warrior people who had the same struggle, the same difficulties and won”.
“Thank you very much, Sherlock Communications and Lupa do Bem, for the invitation and for the surreal experience. I loved everything I learned and I will put it into practice. In fact, I’m already posting it. Thank you and God bless you all”, said Vando Vieira.
“The invitation to the meeting was very pleasant, I am very grateful to Lupa do Bem and Sherlock Communications. The meeting was of great value to us. First, because of the fact to be there and secondly because, in 2023, Sherlock supported us when we were in difficulties due to lip service agreements that were not fulfilled.”
“I believe that God has his little finger there and makes things happen in our lives, and they only happen when they have to. Our trip was very important, as we met wonderful projects and people. You leave the space with a great feeling of belonging.”
“Being among people who lead projects, people who welcome people and, being seen with human eyes, looks of respect. What came to my heart was: this is how it has to be done. I’m on the right path”, adds Patrícia Sodré, coordinator of the Feira do Artesão and Casa Cultural.
“I want to thank and congratulate the meeting of leaders! It was very productive and a wonderful dynamic. I learned a lot from the speakers, who were super friendly and imparted a lot of knowledge. It was an honor to be present and here’s to more meetings like this”, said Hosania Nascimento, Quilombo Aquilah.
“For me, this meeting of leaders that we held in Rio de Janeiro was extremely important because it was a way of taking the work we have been doing over the past three years off paper and bringing it to life, really seeing this effort, these connections we made came to fruition in people, in faces and stories.”
“Knowing these people up close, feeling this energy, really being able to hug them, talk to them, understand them in a deeper way, knowing the needs of these projects, the challenges they face on a daily basis, makes us, as Lupa do Bem, have an understanding a little deeper also of the entire situation and the scenario in which we find ourselves”.
“It was extremely enriching and exciting to be able to bring together so many community leaders on much-needed projects that change the communities where they live. This change also affects the lives of young people and local families. For me, it was an incredible opportunity and one of the situations in which I felt most professionally fulfilled”, concluded Fabiana Moreno Rosa.
It was a very fruitful meeting for everyone, and after the last farewell circle, we were all moved.
