Notice supports projects by Black women

The notice is a partnership between the Ministério da Igualdade Racial (‘Ministry of Racial Equality’) and Banco do Brasil and aims to expand affirmative actions for race and gender

Attention non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations (CSOs): here is the opportunity to bring that project to life! Applications are open for the Edital Empoderamento Socioeconômico das Mulheres Negras e Pardas (‘Socio-Economic Empowerment of Black and Brown Women Notice’).

The notice is the result of the memorandum of understanding signed by Banco do Brasil and the Ministério da Igualdade Racial (‘Ministry of Racial Equality’) to expand race and gender affirmative actions.

There will be selected projects with individual budgets ranging from R$200,000 to R$250,000. These pieces should be submitted by non-profit organizations, legally constituted in Brazil, operating in the third sector, and having Black women in their leadership.

The thematic areas will include socio-economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and cultural and educational entrepreneurship.

After the verification of disqualification conditions, the processing will occur in two stages:

I – Of a classificatory and eliminatory nature, it involves the assessment of merit and ranking of projects based on the Scoring Criteria.

II – Involves the verification of the qualification of the selected proponent entities in stage I.

Participation criteria for institutions

Have at least 50% of Black or Brown women on the board, active CNPJ (‘National Register of Legal Entities’), present statutory purposes compatible with the project’s objectives and aligned with the notice’s subject matter.

Attention

Only proposals that achieve a minimum score of 25 will be eligible to proceed to stage II.

Target audience

Black and Brown women in urban and rural areas.
