Check out the highlights from Lupa do Bem throughout the year!
The end of the year is here. How are we feeling? Tired, yes, but incredibly happy with all the achievements—because let’s face it, they were plenty! We won awards, expanded our coverage to other Latin American countries, established partnerships with media outlets in Brazil and Argentina, launched two new e-books for third-sector professionals, organized training sessions, and strengthened the projects in our network even further. So, join us as we reflect on the most important milestones of Lupa do Bem in 2024!
Positive Impacts, Human Rights Seal, and Lusophone Creativity Award
Without a doubt, the awards and certifications we received this year underscore the hard work of a team deeply committed to Lupa’s mission. We earned the Human Rights Seal from the São Paulo City Hall, the Positive Impacts Award, which is nationally recognized in Brazil, and the Lusophone Creativity Award from Portugal. These recognitions reflect the efforts of a multidisciplinary team that is passionate about what they do. From crafting articles, features, and reports to forging partnerships, organizing events, delivering lectures, and creating support materials—everything here is done with purpose and care.
How to start an NGO and volunteering in organizations
In 2024, the Lupa do Bem platform launched two new free guides. Written in accessible language with interactive navigation, the e-book “How to start an NGO” covered the legal formalization of projects in Brazil, from understanding third-sector regulations and structuring different frameworks to obtaining a CNPJ and estimating initial costs. Meanwhile, the e-book “Volunteering in Organizations” provided actionable tips on implementing effective internal volunteer policies, showcasing how valuable contributions can strengthen organizations.
Community leaders meetings in RJ and SP
Throughout the year, Lupa do Bem hosted two Community Leaders Meetings, one in Rio de Janeiro and the other in São Paulo. These gatherings brought together representatives from projects featured on the platform to discuss resource mobilization, volunteering, the role of social media in generating social impact, and activity documentation for social proof. Participants included leaders from the Fórum Grita Baixada, Instituto Guetto, Quilombo Aquillah, and Água Camelô in Rio de Janeiro, and from Movimento Conexão Favela, Celeiro Vó Tunica, Atados, and Mais1Code in São Paulo, among others.
Expansion in Latin America
Lupa do Bem wrapped up 2024 by consolidating its expansion into Latin America. Throughout the year, we produced 22 stories about projects, grassroots movements, and citizenship initiatives in Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, and Argentina. In Brazil, we closed the year with over 100 impactful social stories, solidifying our position as a national reference for third-sector content.
Partnerships with Catraca Livre and RED/ACCIÓN
To expand the reach of our stories, Lupa do Bem formed partnerships with Catraca Livre in Brazil and RED/ACCIÓN in Argentina. Articles on topics like gender, health, education, sustainability, and human rights showcased the impact of NGOs across Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Panama, and Argentina through these platforms.
Wrapping up the uyear
Wow! Looking back at all we accomplished at Lupa do Bem in the past year, we feel immense satisfaction. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the dedicated people driving social impact and transforming communities across the country. And to our loyal audience, who has been with us since 2021—thank you!
We close this year filled with gratitude and energy to keep moving forward. The Lupa do Bem team wishes you a joyful holiday season and an incredible start to the new year!
