The webseries tells stories of women who faced the pandemic in Rondônia, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Pernambuco

The series “Manual 2022: Strategies for Difficult Times” presents stories of women who, through popular organization, resist and face the challenges caused by the covid-19 pandemic in Rondônia, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Pernambuco.
The production was carried out by a micro-financing pilot project of independent producers, with the aim of strengthening the role of the documentary as a tool for social impact, and is co-produced by the platform itself.
The series is available for free on the online documentary platform Bombozila.com. Founded in 2016 by Brazilian communicator Vito Ribeiro and Chilean communicator Sabina Alvarez, Bombozila.com is an independent documentaries platform from Latin America and the Caribbean with over 500 cataloged films.
“It is necessary to share stories like those of these women who not only resist the deepening of the social and health crisis, but also demonstrate the endless popular capacity to organize, create and produce solidarity networks and popular struggle strategies”, explains Ellen Francisco, coordinator of production.
The four episodes of the webseries
Directed by David Amen, the episode “APOIAR (SUPPORT)” portrays the collective story of Mônica Cunha, forged in the fight for rights and in the support of mothers who are also victims of State violence, and who during the Pandemic saw the worsening of rights violations in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. January.
The episode “RETOMAR (RESUME)“, by Alass Derivas, addresses the retaking of the ancestral lands of the Xokleng Konglui people in the São Francisco de Paula National Forest, led by Cacica Cunllung in response to the advances of former minister Salles and his herd.
In the episode “COMPARTILHAR (SHARE)“, directed by Raíssa Dourado, the protagonist Marcia Mura, in the face of all the neglect and abandonment of indigenous peoples, organizes a solidarity network with donation campaigns and information about the coronavirus for the Mura peoples and other relatives in the region of the district of Nazaré, in Rondônia.
Finally, in the episode “ACOLHER (SHELTER)“, by Ethel de Oliveira, we are introduced to Luiza Cavalcanti, manager of Sítio Ágatha, an afro-ecological, feminist and anti-racist space in the North Forest of Pernambuco that, in addition to donating food, also welcomes women. .
